What to Expect When Buying a Used RV From TX RV

Found an RV you want to see? Send us the stock number. We will confirm that it is available, schedule a time for you to look at it, and make sure you have enough time to walk through the unit and ask questions.

Here is how the rest of the purchase works.

1. Confirm the exact RV

Our inventory moves quickly, and the same model name may appear in more than one year or floorplan. The stock number keeps everyone on the same unit.

Before you make the drive, ask us to confirm:

  • The RV is still available and in Kennedale.
  • The current price.
  • The year, make, model, and stock number.
  • Any feature you need to see or have demonstrated.
  • Whether a hold or title issue affects the timing.

The listing helps you shop, but the actual RV and final paperwork are what you are buying. Prices do not include tax, registration, tags, or delivery unless the written deal says they do.

2. Schedule enough time to look it over

We are at 7002 Kennedale Parkway in Kennedale. Our posted hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are closed Sunday. Confirm your appointment before you travel.

If you want to compare more than one RV, send all the stock numbers ahead of time. Bring a flashlight, your questions, and the payload sticker and full setup information for the tow vehicle you plan to use.

We do not choose or install your hitch, connect the trailer to your vehicle, or approve the truck-and-RV combination. Make sure your towing setup is handled before pickup.

3. Walk the RV before you talk about repairs

Start outside. Check the roof and seals from a safe position, sidewalls, windows, tires, undercarriage, storage bays, lights, slides, awning, and hitch or pin area.

Inside, look for water stains, soft flooring, worn furniture, damaged latches, loose trim, and missing equipment. Open cabinets and look around windows and slide corners.

Then ask us to run the major equipment that matters to you. That may include the slides, air conditioning, heat, refrigerator, water heater, water pump, faucets, toilet, outlets, awning, and jacks.

Use our used RV inspection checklist so you do not miss a section.

4. Decide what you accept and what needs to be written down

A used RV will usually show some age and use. Separate what you find into three groups:

  1. Condition you saw and accept.
  2. A concern that needs more diagnosis before you decide.
  3. A repair, replacement, or included item that must be part of the written deal.

If we agree to do something before pickup, make sure the final paperwork says exactly what it is. Do not leave it in a conversation or text message.

5. Handle the trade-in and financing

For a trade, use our trade-in form and be honest about the year, make, model, condition, payoff, and known problems. Photos and accurate details help us give you a useful starting estimate. We still need to see the RV before making the final offer.

If you need financing, start with the secure TX RV application. Have your address history, housing payment, employment and income information, and the RV’s year, make, model, and expected price ready.

Look at the whole deal, not just the payment. Review the price, tax and registration, trade allowance and payoff, down payment, amount financed, annual percentage rate, term, finance charge, total of payments, and any optional product.

6. Read the hold-deposit terms before you pay

A $1,000 hold deposit takes the RV out of active marketing for the time we agree to hold it. The money is applied to the purchase when you close.

Under our posted policy, the deposit becomes nonrefundable after the RV has been off the market for more than 72 hours. If you do not finish the purchase by the agreed date, we may keep the deposit and put the RV back up for sale.

If we cannot complete the sale because of a title issue, or the RV becomes unavailable through no fault of yours, the policy provides for a refund.

Resolve inspection, financing, travel, and timing questions before you pay the deposit.

7. Choose between as-is and the optional warranty

Our used RVs are sold as-is unless you add the optional coverage. Read what as-is means before you sign.

Our optional 30-day limited warranty costs $599 on eligible units and must be added at the time of sale. It has a $125 deductible per approved claim, coverage limits, exclusions, and a preapproval process. Ask to read the full agreement for the RV you are buying.

8. Check the final paperwork

Before signing, check the buyer name, RV, vehicle identification number, price, trade, financing, deposit credit, optional products, included equipment, and promised work. Do not sign a blank or incomplete form. Keep a copy of everything you sign.

The sale becomes final after the final purchase documents are signed and you take possession by pickup or delivery.

9. Use the final walkthrough

During the walkthrough, make sure you know where the important controls and connections are:

  • Breaker panel, battery disconnect, and control panel
  • Water pump, water heater, city-water connection, and tank controls
  • Slide, awning, stabilizer, or leveling controls
  • Propane shutoffs and appliance controls
  • Power cord and electrical-service rating
  • Keys, remotes, manuals, and included accessories
  • Any repair or special condition completed before delivery

Ask questions while you are standing at the equipment. Take notes or a short video for yourself.

10. Plan the pickup or delivery

For pickup, you are responsible for the tow vehicle, hitch, final connection, loading, lights, brakes, safety chains, breakaway system, and safe departure. Our staff does not connect the trailer to your vehicle or adjust towing equipment on the property.

For delivery, confirm the address, cost, access, timing, placement limits, utilities, and who will be there to accept the RV.

Shop our current RVs, then send us the stock number and your questions.

The final signed purchase, deposit, financing, and warranty documents control the deal.
